WordPress is quite a popular platform for blogs and powers this website. What do you think of the WordPress app for Android? What other software do you use with WordPress? If you use an alternative, what do you use?
We meet on the second and fourth Sundays of each month in Berkeley near the Downtown Berkeley BART station. We hope you join us at Bobby G’s Pizzeria.
I don’t use the Android app that often, but when I do I love to have the option to write on the run.
This site would not be possible without some of the plugins we use. Security wise Akismet has protected our site from 284,280 spam comments and SABRE blocked 1241 bot registrations. We use a handful of others to make it look exactly like it does. I like the WP To Twitter plugin now that I turned off page announcements.
I would want to ensure I have a site backup and access to perform a full restore before trying this out http://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/ but it looks quite good and might reduce server hosting issues.
I just installed a new one on berkeleylug – http://wordpress.org/plugins/stop-spammer-registrations-plugin/
I’ve also enabled http://wordpress.org/plugins/broken-link-checker/
I also installed the jetpack plugin today for the purposes of providing real-time web-stats and social connections.
